Megafauna Discovery Experience

Australia’s ultimate hands on Megafauna experience where you can get your hands dirty and be a part of the team uncovering 50,000 to 100,000 year old bones in the laboratory of Australia’s biggest marsupials. These megafauna fossils have been excavated from the Eulo megafauna fossil fields, one of the most highly concentrated and best preserved Australian megafauna fossil fields and home to the world’s largest marsupials.

A museum Fossil Technician will guide you through this fascinating experience bringing the past into the present. Our one hour guided tour is a hands on tour through the Eromanga Natural History Museum (ENHM) workshop, dinosaur and megafauna laboratories and collection room.

You will be trained by experienced Fossil Technicians who gently guide you through all the different stages of fossil preparation you may encounter. Our Fossil Technicians are locals who have themselves been trained by experts at the ENHM and Queensland Museum and have worked on the ENHM digs and in the laboratories for many years.
