2025 Dinosaur Dig Experience

Learn how to dig up dinosaurs under the guidance of our dedicated team of experts and museum staff. The Eromanga Natural History Museum has been running the Eromanga dinosaur digs since 2007. Now you can book your spot on this exciting dinosaur dig. Our small group digs give you a very specialised experience.

2025 Eromanga Dig dates

Week 1 – 28th May – 4th June (arrive for dinner on Wednesday 28th May and leave after breakfast on Wednesday 4th June)

Week 2 – 4th June – 11th June (arrive for dinner on Wednesday 4th June and leave after breakfast on Wednesday 11th June)

Dinosaur Dig Experience with ENHM

8 Day/7 Night Experience* includes:

  • First night at Cooper’s Country Lodge in a Outback Studio
  • Australian Dinosaur Giants Tour and Full day in the ENHM Lab working on the fossils
  • 6 nights at the shearers quarters – twin share accommodation (share facilities)
  • All meals (7 breakfasts, 6 lunches, 7 dinners, 5 morning teas, 5 afternoon teas)
  • 5 full days digging for dinosaurs working alongside ENHM field palaeontologists and geologists
  • Personal meeting with the private landholders of the dinosaur dig sites locations
  • Day visit to a new dinosaur site or the ENHM (time and weather permitted)
  • Join us on the dig and get an automatic subscription to Cooper’s Country Newsletter

Our small group digs provide a very personalised experience.

Dinosaur Insider’s Package

Stay on site at Cooper’s Country Lodge in our air-conditioned 4 star accommodation for this fully immersive hands-on experience.

Join our expert guides on the Australian Dinosaur Giants Tour. Touch a 90 million year old Dinosaur Bone, meet ‘Cooper’ Australia’s largest Dinosaur and learn about the mega beasts that came after the dinosaur’s extinction. After lunch, work alongside senior technicians, who will guide you through the processes of fossil identification and preparation.

  • Learn to remove surrounding clay with air scribes and small tools
  • Clean and consolidate bones
  • Jig saw and glue bone pieces together
  • Have a go at wet sieving and sorting sediments
  • Look for microfossils under the microscope
